Subject: Suburban Furnace

Question
I was cleaning Suburban Frnace model# NT24S.......the wires were not wire-nutted together tight... the wires came apart.      I have 1 black and 1 white Incoming power........1 red and 1 white thermostat wires and the wires to the furnace are 2 blue ...1 red....1 yellow.

Could you please tell me how they should be wired.......There was originally 3 separate connections......But while cleaning the wires came undone from wire nuts.......

Also original problem started with an old thermostat....I changed with a universal from a RV supply company.....Furnace would start (Light) about every 4th try...then go out and not start again until I shut off and started over after a 5 minute wait..will not cycle on off as supposed to....any help would be greatly appreciated thank you for your time

Furnace: Suburban
Model # :  NT 24S
Code # :  BGV K
Manifold Pressure :   10 0
Input BTU :  24000
Orifice Size:  54
Serial # :  1641313

Wires Involved

Incoming (main)  1 Black
                1 White

Thermostat :  1 Red
             1 White

Furnace Wires:  2 Blue (does it matter which blue one when connecting)
               1 red
               1 Yellow

Answer
Wayne, This is simple. There will be 4 wires that need to be connected. The red wire from the furnace is the positive 12 volt wire, the yellow wire is the negative 12 volt wire, the 2 blue wires go to the thermostat and it doesn't matter which way they are connected. The T-Stat only completes the circuit. Your incoming main goes to the red and the white to the yellow and so on. I hope that this helps, Bill
