Subject: norcold 1200lrim icemaker

Question
The icemaker quit working and I put a new switch for the water, part number 55. I still don`t have any water in the tray. Can you help me.??

thank you

doug

Answer
Doug, The ice maker only works when the temperature gets low enough. When it is on and the temp is low enough you should hear the water valve opening. If you never hear this then you want to verify that the line coming in to the freezer is not frozen up either. This can happen if you are full timing it. Check to make sure water will flow through the line and that the freezer is cold enough. If all those things are right then I would say to replace the ice maker itself as it must not be sending the signal to the valve. Let me know what you find before replacing anything else and I will go through this with you.
