Question QUESTION: about to purchase a 2007 rv and it has been sitting for about 6 months tried starting the gen and it was billowing black smoke and would only run for 45 seconds,133 hours. does that sound like a deal breaker?

QUESTION: It's a gas unit, the gas has been sitting as long.
Answer Pull the gas line off and install a new short piece of fuel line. Put it in a can of gas. Push and hold the stop side of the switch to prime the pump. Then try to start it. If it starts then replace the fuel line. If the motor of the RV runs ok on the gas in the tank, then it should be ok for the Gen. Good luck.
