RV Repair - rv slide

Question
I just bought a 06 Keystone Laredo (1 wk tomm). Tonight I found a metal scheme stuck between the square tubing that pulls and pushes the slide.  This is obviously not a factory piece, its been a patch job when I took the scheme out and tried to bring slide in it became uneven one side wanted to grab and the other side didn't.  It seems to me that the scheme kept pressure on the sprocket to keep it from slipping.  What should I do and is this going to be a major fix?

Answer
Not knowing the exact drive/ram system that you have, the best I can tell you is that there should be nylon glides to keep the ron intouch with the drive gear. A visual inspection should reveal any missing parts or if the gear is just bad. Most are replacable with common hand tools.
