AboutAmy Expertise I am the owner/operator of a small scale mini rex rabbitry. I am also a member of the ARBA. I can answer questions about Mini Rex rabbits, breeding, care of kits, general care of rabbits both pet and brood stock/show, general genetics (or can point you in the right direction to finding that information). I also have a general knowledge of medical and behavioral aspects of owning rabbits, but I am not a vet, so can not diagnose your pet.
I can not answer questions about dressing out or eating rabbits, meat rabbits (other than general rabbit behavior). Even though I am a breeder I feel that pet rabbits should be spayed and neutered, but that does not mean I will not help a pet owner out who has a litter on the way, or in the nestbox.
Experience Owner/Operator of a small scale Mini Rex rabbitry. I have owned rabbits both as pets most of my life and have been a breeder for a year.
Organizations Member of the ARBA.
Education/Credentials full-time college student with a love for rabbits.
Question QUESTION: one of my girl rabbits had seven babies but two have already died I'm thinking the mommy isn't feeding like she is suppose to i herd them cry
ANSWER: First time mother rabbits aren't always the best mothers, and because I don't know many details about this case, I can't really tell you much about what might have happened. However there are lots of things that can cause new born rabbits to die, and it is not always the fault of the mother rabbit.
I suggest you do some research on breeding rabbit and the care of kits, or feel free to contact me again with more details to the case so that I can help you more http://www.islandgems.net/bunbreeding.html

QUESTION: hi I have one more question last night my doe killed all her babies expect one i have been feeding it by hand is there or do u think it has a chance to live
Answer This is fairly normal in new mothers unfortunately. Rabbits don't have the maternial instinct that humans or dogs do and sometimes momma rabbits just don't do well with their babies. As for hand raising baby rabbits, it is hard to do, but please read these articles for more information to make sure you are doing everything you can for it.
