Question
Hi My french lop Poppy is just six, she has had for some time arthritis in her back legs, she gets around very well and has a daily dose of metacam, but in the last week I have noticed that she seems to have wet inner legs, she is weeing in them and she now has a smell of urine about her, I have bathed her but she is just as wet in no time, she is eating and drinking and her poos are fine, I have always had this breed for many years but have not had to deal with this problem, I am very sad and fear the worst, I have an appointment for her tomorrow but would like to know what you think please, she is one of two I have and loved dearly.

Answer
This could be caused by calcification in the urethra or an infection in the bladder.  If , after a treatment with antibiotics she is not better you could try putting 10 ml per liter of apple cider vinegar in her drinking water.  This will acidify her urine and little by little help clean out her urinary system.  It is important that you keep her clean because the urine can burn her skin.
