Rabbits/Baby Bunnies

Hello Ma'am,
My bunny just had babies 4 days ago and within that time span one of them has died due to unknown reasons. I haven't seen the mom feed the babies yet, and I have researched online to find out how to know if babies are being fed. So far while all of them are warm, their bellies do not seem like they've been eating as well as the mom doesn't seem to be lactating. Please help as soon as you can.

Worried grandma

A mamma bunny will feed twice a day, so it's possible you won't ever see her feed. If you're still concerned, you can feed them using KMR - a kitten milk replacement found at most pet stores - and a syringe.

Hope this helps. Good luck, and please let me know if you have any other questions.

I am not an expert on wild rabbits, only domesticated rabbits. I can answer questions regarding habitats, behavior, diet, health, pairing/bonding - pretty much anything having to do with owning a rabbit.

I've owned indoor rabbits for the last 10 years. During that time I've gained experience in areas like bonding exercises, understanding behavior, warning signs of sick bunnies, how to handle more serious illnesses (GI stasis, abscesses, eye problems, etc.) and more. It's rare that I come across an inquiry that I do not already know the answer to.

Personal experience beats the pants off of a degree, in my opinion.
