Question I am wiring a home that will have 2" of gypcrete poured for the hydronic floor heat. The homeowner has several locations in the great room, loft, and office where they will need receptacles installed in the floor. What is the best box to install in this application.
Answer I use a plastic box to resist the initial moisture introduced with a Gypcrete pour. Weather-proof would be overkill unless you intend to rough wire before the pour. Naturally, you will have to allow for floor coverings and make your cut-outs water tight.
