Radiant Floor Heating/Electric radiant floor control

Good afternoon,
I was inquiring about the temperature requirements for the shower area of a bathroom, is it required to have a 240 with a GCFI? Or could we buy something different?

Then a far a purchasing the controls for the heated floors, I was wonder do I have to purchase one or multiplies if I wanted to control the following; there's two bathrooms I want heated tile in the bathroom and heated tile in the shower area.  I want to set up a controller that will allow me to control all four sections separately.  would like to know if this is that possible

Dear Amy,

You can control every square foot of an electric radiant floor with slab sensors, but we rarely try to control more than one room at a time as over-controlling adds little to comfort or economy but much to the installed cost. Sometimes we just control the slab temperature in one area of a large room with another heat source for backup.

As for specific control, their voltage and safety devices, all such questions are best answered by your designer, engineer or installing technician carefully following the individual manufacturers design and installation instruction along with NEC codes and common rules for safe installation of line-voltage spade heating mats or wire.
