Radiant Floor Heating/Heated Driveway

I am looking for a contractor to repave my driveway but I would like it to be a heated driveway. Do you know of any contractors in the Northern VA area?

Thank you!

We have designed and installed many heated driveways all over N.America. There is much to know about snow-melting design.

First to consider is the class of system. Class, 1, 2 or 3, must be established first since the pattern, tube size, spacing and equally as critical, the heat source output and control.

Though there isn't much useful information available about snow melting or heated driveways ASHRAE does address the subject in-depth 2007 ASHRAE Handbook Chapter 50. However, this information is of limited use to the novice. You should assume everyone you talk to is unfamiliar, as heated driveways are rare precisely because of this lack of knowledge.

The best way to assure success in contracting a heated driveway installation is to first secure a proper design and specification, including required output (specific to your climate and Class of system you choose), fuel source e.g. gas, electricity, solid fuel.

As we design, install and service heated driveway systems in one of the more challenging climates in the US (Minneapolis) we can design a system to meet your needs using ASHRAE snow-melting standards and dedicated software. We can also help you find a local contrator to install and maintain the system you choose.
