Question
Hi Katie:

I'm in the process of applying for a job at a new radio station.  My problem is I had tapes from my 3 years of Internet Radio programs however, they are now gone.  Can I do a demo on my computer and that be acceptable or do they usually want "actualy" programs you've done.  Also, how long should it be?  My plan is to use a couple of spots I've done and maybe an intro, outro, and flowing from one song to another.  I want to be correct on what is normally required on an air check is my idea correct?  I would really like this job. Thank you so much.

Answer
Hi Veronica,

I don't see any problem with "creating" an aircheck.  They just need to get a basic idea of how you sound on the air.  I would keep it short, and put the best of you on it.  A couple intro's, outro's, maybe some weather and a commercial should be plenty....they rarely listen to the whole thing anyway.  Good luck to you!
