Subject: Banning songs from radio stations
Question How does this process work? If I want to work to get a song banned, where do I start? When a station decides to ban a song, who is involved in the decision and whom are they responding to complaints from?
I hope this isn't outside your area of experience; I know it is unusual. Perhaps you can refer me elsewhere if necessary.
Thanks!
Answer Can you give me a little more information? What is the song you have a problem with? Why do you think it should be "banned"? I have never heard of a person single handedly getting something like this accomplished, as it is effectively censorship. Radio stations play music based on what is popular at the time for the most part. Sometimes a station will choose not to play a particular song because of content or controversy, but it is rare. I am kind of the belief that if you don't want to hear a certain song, then you are free to change the station, and I don't mean offense towards you specifically when I say that, but it is the way I feel about the subject in general. I don't want others deciding what is okay for me or my family to listen to or watch or whatever.
Having said all of that, I am interested in your point of view on the matter, and what specifically you are having an issue with. Please reply back, and maybe if I know more, I will be able to give you a better answer. Thanks!
