Question
Hello Ms Collins

I've just graduated from a broadcasting school exactly one year ago this month, and I've sent my demo to numerous radio stations and I've never gotten a response and I'm getting a little discouraged and I feel like I've wasted my time and money. what advice can you give me? and are you willing to listen to my demo and give some advice on what I need to improve on?

Answer
The best thing you can do is try to get to know someone at one of the stations.  Radio is one of the worst businesses to try & break into without having an inside connection.  If nothing else, be persistent, maybe ask to "shadow" or observe for a few days, just make yourself known around the station so that when they have an opening they will remember that you are looking.  Hope that helps some....it can be a tough business to break into.
