Nice pic Kramer.
What steps do we take in getting a radio spot, perhaps use pre-recordings to avoid mass travel. Is there a certain person to ask for at radio stations? How should we present ourselves to the radio host to show we're radio worthy? Local vs. national radio -cost, demographics?" Sorry if I don't know the proper ?s to ask. Please be so kind to give us any specific details that can help us contact and get on radio.

Stacey,
Thanks for the question.
You would need to speak to a sales account representative at a radio station. If it's a smaller radio station, you might speak directly to the sales manager.
They can give you all the information you'd need, such as the different ways the spot can be produced, area demographics, and times your spot will play to target the most individuals. They also will advise you on which sales package would best fit your needs. I will say that producing and marketing a national radio ad is very expensive; you may want to try your local market first and see what happens.
Also, now-a-days communications companies, such as Clear Channel, own multiple radio stations in each market. This is a good thing for you, as you could have a spot produced and aired on multiple stations very easily. This will maximize your exposure.
Good luck and I'm glad you like my pic. :)

Answer Stacey,
Well, this is just my opinion, but it all depends on where you advertise and what kind of internet radio station it is.
Internet radio is a growing format and more and more people listen every day. This being said, it is still quite a bit off from the amount of listeners terrestrial radio, or your average "normal" radio station has. Advertising on internet radio can be very lucrative if the station is greatly listened to. The problem with internet radio is that there isn't a great tracking device out at this time to find out how many people are listening and when they listen. Terrestrial radio conducts polls using companies such as Arbitron to find out which stations get the most listeners, what age the listeners are, and what times they listen. This benefits advertisers as it lets you know when your target audience is listening.
When you talk to the sales manager or a sales associate, they should explain your target audience and be able to provide statistics from companies like Arbitron to back up their sales and advertising plan. If they don't, ask for it.
As far as internet radio, I'd say if the cost isn't too great, why not try it and see what happens. Especially if you know the station has a big following. But if it becomes a choice between internet radio and terrestrial radio, I'd pick terrestrial radio hands down.
