Question
I'm a 6th grader and I am researching machines in medicine, and it would help me a lot if you could tell me how the Ultrasound works and a couple of things it is used for.

Answer
Sorry I took so long in getting your question.

the ultrasound machine works by high frequency sound traveling through the body's tissues and bouncing back to the hand held control the Sonographer moves over the surface of the skin in the area being examined.

The machine consist of a monitor, a computer, a control panel and a transducer (the tool the sonographer holds).

Ultrasound is a good diagnostic tool for women who are pregnant, and looking into blood vessels around the heart.
