Subject: back pain

Question
I have been suffering from lower back pain sinc the past 2 years. X-ray report indicated sacralization of lumbosacral spine, loss of lumber lordosis is seen. By physician gave pain killer medicines, and advised local application of pain relieveing ointment + specific exercize for minimizing the problem. But the problem seems to worsen day by day. I am a working lady and my job requires involvement from 9.00 a.m to 9.00 p.m. Kindly suggest whether the my problem has any permanent solution.

Answer
An orthopedic surgeon could best answer this question. Your sacrum is fusing with your lowest lumbar vertebrae which in time may shift your center of gravity and change the shape of the natural curvature of your spine which in turn will cause abnormal muscle strain and pain. As far as I know about treatment options...I just understand the problem and mechanics involved...hard for me to say what can be done about it besides exercise so as the muscles are exposed to shifts in your spine they will be better able to cope with the different stresses.
