Radiology/Renal ultrasound

Question
"I am 73 years old, my renal ultrasound report says "Mildly echogenic renal parenchyma"
How serious is this, or is this more or less something that can be expected from a 73 year old man ?

Answer
Jon,

Good questions!  I am not sure what to make of it. If you have diabetes or hypertension or disease that may result in decreased renal function then perhaps it may be related but the desciption by itself is not that specific.

Sorry, I don't have a better answer now without any more history.
Hope this helps somewhat.
