Radiology/BPD size in normal 30 week fetus ??

Question
None of my doctors will give me an answer on this. I am 30 weeks pregnant but suddenly had a jump in measurements. I am measuring 36 weeks. The ultrasound showed a BPD of 118mm. The ultrasound technician spent a very long time taking scans and pictures of what I would assume are ventricles and pockets of CSF in the brain. The entire scan of the head took approximately 40 minutes. The tech did not, of course, disclose much information to me. The results of the ultrasound were sent to radiology and then to my OB/GYN. No one will give me an answer when I ask what is going on with the baby.

Is a biparietal diameter of 118mm at 30 weeks considered very large? Is this an instance where you would recommend a second opinion?

I'm sure it'll shed some light on the issue, now I would say a BPD of 118mm sounds like too much, even in a post term fetus!  I understand it's very annoying for you to deal with this; I would say no matter what at this point you need specialized perinatology consultation, check with your doctor to get a good referral.
