Question
I was wondering your take on the break up of the band.

Answer
THIS IS ALL COMPLETELY 100% OPINION:

I think that Zack started to take the music in a different direction, and Tom and Zack both admit to butting heads on that subject. Zack called being in the studio 'an arm-wrestling match between Tom and I.'

I think that probably sparked disagreements that were pretty common for them, but when Tim Commerford pulled his stunt at the VMA's, as soon as Zack got up to leave, I said to myself, "this is over.'

Then their tour got postponed, then Tom said everyone was ready to go but Zack, to a reporter. I think personal conflict and different musical expectations were all a part of it. They all made it very clear from the get-go that they did NOT socialize together.

I hope they all still hold a mutual respect for each other and the music they made, but it was probably for the best. BOLA is by far not my favorite album. They started to sound predictable.

Zack has been collaborating with DJ Shadow, (see 'March of Death'). He also did a song with Roni Size, called
'Centre of the Storm'.
