Question
man im trying to get my artists music out there can you tell me where to send it im trying a talent agency cca at the time but i need like agents and a&r to listen to it its great work

he's 16 im 19 and were both new to this but my boy is real god and lyrical

Answer
First you can send me his myspace page and I will take a listen. You are both young so I would suggest you get him a manager, someone that knows the business. This could be a family member or anybody. Its called the music business and you have to learn the business order to be successful. You can start by reading 1 music business book a month. If you are serious about your careers you will take the time to learn the business. Or you can even go to college for business management. The fastest way for you to blow up his career is to get involved with people that know the business. Here is a simple plan to start

1- Buy a few music business books, research and find the best ones and read them quickly.

2- Set up a press kit with a bio, picture, and CD. Send that to promoters, managers, radio stations, record labels, magazines, newspapers etc...

3- Contact Digiwaxx and try to get radio play http://www.digiwaxx.com/

4- Talk with club promoters and small clubs and try to set up shows for him.

5- You have to take the business into your own hands. Record labels are like investors they don't do artist development. The artist has to be developed already. Meaning you have to get your own shows, get radio play, sell your CD's and merchandise on your own before a label will be interested. Rap artist Soulja Boy was only 15 and he produced his music on his computer and developed a large fan base on myspace and youtube and performed locally and got signed with producer Collipark.

That should be able to help you start but you won't be successful without proper knowledge.

a- You must perform
b- You must enter contests and win
c- You must develop a fan base on your own

Also, im the publisher of www.SPATEMAG.com so join our community at
http://www.spatemag.ning.com and upload your music, pics and video that will get you some free exposure.

Hope this helps
