Question Hi, Im looking for a hip-hop song, I rekon made in the 90's, all I remember is the title 'Weekend' and that a girl was singing the chorus...I also remeber a bit of the video..something bout them all working in the factory and just waiting for the weekend... i loved this song..please help!
Answer Possibly..the song is "lookout weekend" by Debbie Deb. It also has been done more recently by Janet Jackson. It was not on the album 20 years old, but i 'reckon' was a bonus track from the '20 years old' sessions.
The Debbie Deb version can be found more easily on the various artists cd called Trinere and Friends -greatest hits (pandisc records).
The song was first recorded in the early 1980s, btw.
Thanx

Followup: Oh yeah, i forgot about that song from Black Eyed Peas. I downloaded that song a couple years ago, tried it, but it never caught on. I tried mixing it back to back with Janet's 'lookout weekend' and it never stuck with my crowd. It cleared the dance floor most of the time, no matter how smoothly i mixed it in. I liked the song tho...much better than the mind-numbing omni-present "my humps", which was an still is a floor-filler with my crowd (how old aka tired is that song?)
Best,
Dj Martin
