In addition, i can answer questions about electrofunk that came from that era: Twilight 22, Newcleus, Egyptian Lover, Arabian Prince, Kyper,Cybotron, Reggie Griffin and Technofunk, Hashim. In addition to that my knowledge of 80s hip hop and r&b extends to the r&b/funk side with Cameo, Loose Ends, Lakeside, Gap Band, Sos band, and others.

Question This may be a tough one. I'm almost positive this songs is from the 80s, and I think it's played a lot. The only thing I can remember from it is its distinctive piano. I know it's not Lighter Shade of Brown's "Hey DJ". This isn't much to go off of, but any thoughts would be helpful.
Answer i couldn't identify it by listening to it. I can only offer a couple of suggestions as far as distinctive piano pieces in rap songs. Here goes: (Hey Dj is actually a remake from an 80s rap group, Lighter shade's version came out in 1993-94 btw)
