Question
do you think that gangster rap promotes gang violence and drug use? are music videos with sexual content and gang symbols is ok for people to be able to view freely on youtube or MTV?

Answer
The majority of rappers come from criminal backgrounds. Rap was a way for them to stop selling drugs or doing crime in order for them to make a living. In other words rap gave them an outlet to express what they went through in real life and make money at it. This is why you see gang signs and violent behavior in videos because that's the way they live.

I don't think this type of behavior is damaging to kids but if they are not raised properly then
there will be a problem. Its up to the parents to decide a child's life not the television. Some people don't even watch television so TV plays a very small part in raising children. If parents rely on television to raise their kids then there's a problem at home.

People are free to do as they like. You can only tell a person what is right and what is wrong its up to them to do the right thing. It starts at home. As far as videos on MTV and Youtube with sexual content, I don't let my daughter watch it. I don't have MTV or BET. She doesn't even know what that is. I limit her use of the computer so again it starts at home.
