Question I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and rosacea, but my doctor is doing tests to rule other things out. I got some test results and was wondering what type of illness could cause these results. My urinalysis showed red blood cells and hemoglobin in my urine and the C-reactive protein test was higher than normal. Also in my CBC, my plateletes were high. Does this indicate anything significant?
Thank you.
Answer Considering the information you have given me, I would suggest Lupus. Lupus causes a rash, joint pain, hemoglobinuria, and a high C-reactive protein test. Usually with Lupus you see low platelet count in a CBC, but not always; you are likely an exception. It might also be a Porphyria. Ask your doctor to run more tests for these conditions. I hope I was able to help!
