Subject: TESTICULAR PAIN

Question
QUESTION: I was am suffering from left testicular pain sometimes in right from last 1 month i went to urologist he did all the tests like blood , urine, ultrasound and CT Scan. all negative.. and he said there is no organic cause of testicular pain and your pain is psychologically. Can u please tell me testicular pain can be psychologically?

ANSWER: Hi Shehzad, First off, have you had any injuries? vasectomy? are you active in sports?  I'm just tossing questions out there to see if there was some cause maybe you didn't think of that could have caused an injury or the testicle to become inflammed.  Sometimes there are factors such as fear, worries, stress about your life or job that can make phantom pains and there is a condition called Post-vasectomy pain syndrome so that's why I asked you about the vasectomy.  Sometimes factors like stress wear down the body and you notice different pains and tinges that you wouldn't normally have if you were not stressed.  On the other hand if you are not stressed and you didn't have any injury, and it is really worrying you, you should seek a second opinion.

Sometimes an inflammation can turn to infection as well so you need to watch for other symptoms if they develop.

Since I don't know anything else about you, no health history, ect., and we are talking via the internet, it would be very hard to come up with the reason for your pain.  But testicular pain can be psychological.  I think if it continues to pain you that you should seek a 2nd opinion.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: i never had any injury in testes and my health status before testicular pain was normal and still from medical point of view i am 100% normal. I am not able to sit on chair properly because of testicular pain and doctor says its all psychologically. please tell me it this pain is purely psychological than how long it will take?

Answer
shehzad, When the pain first started, what was happening in your life?  What do you remember doing when you first noticed the pain?  I really think you should go to another doctor for an opinion.  Yes, pain can be psychological but if you cannot sit on a chair comfortably and it hurts all the time, there probably is an underlying cause that maybe the first doctor just did not seem to see.  I would find another urologist to review the test results and do an exam to see what he thinks.
