About Kirby Expertise I know a lot about techno music itself, ask me if you would like suggestions for songs you should listen to. You can be extremely specific when you tell me what type of techno you want to hear, because I`ve heard a lot of it. For example, you can say `give me titles of some trance songs that are over 150 bpm` or `give me titles of some jungle songs that are heavy on the `bass` and not too heavy on the `drums`. If you are new to the techno genre, I can tell you about most of the different genres of electronic music. Meaning, I`ll explain what one is, and compare it to others. I don`t know much about Gabber or a ton about house, but I know the most about trance, dance (classic and new), jungle and happy hardcore. I have played classical piano and oboe since I was 5 and 11 (respectively) so if you are into classical but want to start listening to some techno, I can suggest some starter songs for you. I`m interested in helping more people learn about techno music because it is fairly unknown in some areas (like NH).
Experience Well let's put it this way... we all know that everyone steals music so I won't claim not to fit this description. However, I am also willing to pay exorbitant amounts of money to see my favorite artists live in concert to support them, and buy their CDs when I've sampled tracks (I'm cautious like that). If I don't, then it's their fault for not playing within 200 miles of me! Believe me if I had enough time to travel to Europe I would.
Question I know of quiet a few lyric finding servers that I can use. The only problem I've been having is that very few of them have few if any techno songs (I know most techno doens't have words, but some do, though it may be few - which makes them harder to give a description of the words!). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew of a GOOD lyric finding site or some kind of chat or message board that I could use to help me out. Thanks!
Answer Hello...
Actually, I don't trust lyric sources very much at all and I really prefer places where I can talk to some real people who can discuss the possibilities, not just give one possibility which is probably wrong anyway. I am a member at tranceaddict.com, which has excellent search engines and people who you can talk to about lyrics. Tons of forums and the people tend to be extremely knowledgeable. Just make sure you search first if you have specific lyrics, for the name of the song plus the word lyrics, because the people tend to get pissy if there have already been lots of threads on the same thing without any of the thread starters having looked on search before posting a question that's already been asked. :) However, this is a trance site primarily, and there is this other place, digitallyimported.com, which is very good too, and has more genres to talk about. The people also tend to be more thoughful here, a larger proportion of the questions asked on this site are meaningful than on tranceaddict but either one is fine...
Hope one of these works!
Sincerely,
Kirby
P.S. Even if they don't, you can even post this very question there and just keep getting more and more sources...
