Question Hello,
My father refinaced a home that my brother and myself, along with my father live in. The mortage company put my name and my brothers name on the title, even though neither my brother nor myself are responsible for paying. I am on disability and plan on moving to another state to try and get employment. I do not want nor do I think it is nessarry to have my name on the title. How would I go about getting it removed. Also, my credit is less than desirable and I don't want it to effect my Father or brother in any way, as well as I will not be living in the home anyway. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.-Regards-Skyler
Answer It is easy to have real property title reflect your wishes through a title company. They are experts in this field and will offer you advice and options. I'm not sure what geographical area in which you are located, but there are title companies just about everywhere I've ever checked. As with anything legal, follow up and make sure your local government recordation department has duly recorded your legal documents and you may want to order a few extra copies for all of you.
If for any reason you are having trouble locating such a title co to meet your needs, I can have my local title co rep contact you. Here to help. --Val
