Question My husband and I own a house in palm beach county. For the past 4 years the mortgage has been in his name only. I would like for my name not to be on the deed to this house as I would like to be considered as first home buyer to purchase my own property. Do I need to file a quitclaim deed for this??
Answer Dear Karen,
Thank you for your question.
If you name is on the deed to your present home, there will be a record in the Palm Beach County Clerk's Office of your ownership of the home.
I would not suggest attempting what you are suggesting, as it could be construed that you are making an erroneous statement about your past home ownership. And could actually be opening a Pandora's box, which is best left closed.
