I'm trying to refinance my house, and I have good credit and plenty of equity. But, I'm a small business owner, and I pay my taxes in arrears, meaning I file my return, wait for a bill from the IRS, and set up a payment plan. I always make my payments on time, and have been doing this for years. Presently I'm paying on my 2007 taxes, and am waiting on the bill from the IRS in order to set up my 2008 taxes (billing takes about a month, I filed the beginning of this month.)
My question, with all of the rule changes, will this cause a problem with me getting financed??
Thanks so much for your time!
Zak
Answer HI Zak,
You will need some kind of income documentation in order to refinance. By now, the Lender will be expecting you to have your 2008 returns completed as extensions are due in September. You might want to have your CPA do a Profit/Loss statement and the lender may take that instead of your returns. Good luck.
