Expert: Jonathan Dever, Esq Date: 6/24/2008 Subject: apartment Lease agreement.
Question My situation is that, well I am recently married, and my wife fell ill. She has
been out of work for 2 months now and my income is not enough to support
us alone. She owned her own business and we had to let our lease agreement
with the building owner go. So now she is out of work. I have 5 months left
on my Aparment Lease and need to move out. My Lease agreement with the
apartment does not mention anything about early termination. What could
happen to me if I asked to leave? What different situation should I prepare
for?
Answer The answer to your situation is simple. Communicate with your landlord. Start there first. Ask for help, ask him to help you out in this tough situation. There is always a solution in every difficult situation. If you need assistance bridging the gap, let me know.
