Real Estate Law (esp. Landlord-Tenant) - Verbal lease agreements

Expert: Michelle Mangen - 5/6/2009

Question
I am wanting to know if a verbal lease agreement means anything in the state of Indiana.

Answer
Cassandra:

Since my profile states I am only familiar with WI I am not 100% sure however verbal agreements do typically have some "weight" but the burden of proof for enforcement will lay with the Landlord.

It's always best to get things in writing as it's more protection for both parties.
