Real Estate Law (esp. Landlord-Tenant) - real estate law

Expert: Paulette - 8/4/2009

Question
I own an acre of land (listed as recreational)a  nieghboring property owner was visited by the Dea,Police,Swat team Haz mat as someone accused him of manufacturing drugs. Subsequently the county came through & "Red tagged" my property. his property & 1 more nieghbor.  That's the only owners on this private road ( 1 mile off paved road, behind a locked gate).  The county is insisting I remove my 5th wheel (I only use for recreation once every couple of months) & tear down a 1 room cabin that has been there for many years before I bought the property (10 yrs. ago).  If it is recreational property...why can I not keep a recreational vehicle there.  I don't live there..only visit on an occasional weekend.  Desperately seeking advice.  this is Santa Cruz Co.

Answer
This is a bit confusing.  Your property is being checked because of another property.  You can always dispute it and file a law suit against the agency asking you to make these changes.  You did nothing wrong.  Again, I don't know what state you are in and i don't know what the law say regarding the situation.  You might want to consult a real estate attorney that specializing in zoning laws.

I hope this helped.

Good luck.

Paulette
