Real Estate: New York - New York apartments

Expert: Reza Ardebili - 12/26/2007

Question
Hi. I'm not sure if you can answer this or not because it's about renting in New York City instead of buying, but when someone rents an apartment, are there certain days of the week when they can't move in? Thanks

Answer
no, there are no DEAD days to move in. Unless the apartment building you have has certain days as a NO MOVE IN DATE? as long as you and the owner agree,  you can move anytime you want.

I have heard of couple of dwellings that have only fri/sat/sun as moving date to not bother other tenants. or weekdays move in.

but it all depends on the owner.

as a NYS law, there is no such a thing.
