Question The Attorney General put a lien on the property of the GRANDFATHER of the child. The grandfather and the father have the same last name, but the father of the child is a Jr. The AG has so far not taken the lien off the property even though we proved that the SSN and DOB on the lien are not the same as the owner of the property. Someone said we could do a NOT ME AFFIDAVIT. Do you know where I can find one of these? Thanks. Jenny
Answer Jenny,
Let me make sure I understand your question. The AG put a lien on the property of person A. person A is the Father of the actual owner of the home, person B who we might call Mr. Smith Jr.
Have you discussed the affidavit with the AG and if so, what was his response?
Have you spoken with a lawyer regarding this? If the AG is not willing/able to provide you with a way to correct this situation, contact a real estate lawyer.
A real estate lawyer will understand what has happened and be most able to help you through the process.
