Subject: Loan on Sheriff's Deed

Question
Is is possible to get a loan on a sheriff's deed.  The house is paid off.

Answer
Tamara,

While I have never dealt with a sheriff's deed, I don't think it would be a problem.  A sheriff's deed just says that the chain of title is not being guaranteed.  A title company can still do a complete title search and issue an insurance policy that should satisfy the lender.

Talk to your lender and verify with them.
