Question How do I find out who owns a particular property that I am interested in purchasing?
Answer While this process is not absolute legal proof, but it is often accurate.
Appraisal district information usually contains owner information. Many appraisal districts have web sites where the information is available, along with tax information and other information. For example, the Dallas county website is www.dcad.org and the Ellis county website is www.elliscad.org. You can search the internet to find the website for your county.
If option does not produce the information you need then you can contact the county in which the property is located. They should have a department that will have the ownership information. They might even find it for you.
