Question
I believe the name of this song was caught in a lie. It was sung by a young lady. One of the lines: 'You said she was your cousin, but I found out that she wasn't'. This song goes back to the mid 70's. I would be interested to know if you can tell me who sang it and where I could find it.

Thanks.

Answer
Hello Clyde,

This song is called 'Caught You In A Lie' and sung by the original Queen of Lovers Rock, Louisa Mark, who sadly passed away in Gambia a couple weeks ago. This track is considered by many to be the first of the Lovers Rock genre and her recent death has had a profound effect on many people, particularly in the UK, who grew up on her music.

You can listen to it here.

I have also attached a couple of other links to some tracks of hers that you may want to listen to below.

My experience lies in being a listener and appreciater of reggae music of all genres since the 70s. Lovers rock in particular is quite specific to the UK and I am often able to answer questions relating to artists and lyrics.
