Question As we know, evil people accumulate bad karma. According to Brian Weiss, no matter how evil you were on a given life, you always get the chance to redeem yourself when you reincarnate over and over again until you pay your karma and your soul evolves in search of enlightenment.
However, here is another fact: Evil spirits exist.
Well documented stories of haunting convince us of this without a doubt. I am not talking about demons (entities that have existed from the beginning of times and were never human), I am talking about evil people that once lived in bone and flesh and after their death, they appear to people in the form of a spirit. And this spirit looks exactly as the person that he was when alive. That’s how you know this spirit is not a demon, but someone who once lived.
My question is: Why would people become evil spirits if they can reincarnate and redeem themselves? Are they trapped in this dimension and not able to repent and doomed to torment people for all eternity? Or this is just a phase and they eventually will reincarnate and have a second chance?

Brian Weiss is correct, we all have the opportunity to make up for "bad" things we did in previous lives through reincarnation. And we've all been sinners and saints.
There are two theories about the subject you asked about.
The first is that people who die and become evil spirits don't realize they have done so. Their anger, desire for revenge, or other strong emotions keep them trapped on the Earth plane. Or they may realize they have a chance to move on, but don't for various reasons. Eventually, they all move on.
The other theory is that some evil spirits may be just a thought form, or spiritual layer, of the person who died. The soul may have already moved on to the "other side."
By the way, often people who become evil spirits do so in part because they were possessed or influenced by dark energy while they were alive.
