Question My dear brother passed just over 6 years ago. I adopted a stray cat (who came to my door to be fed) about 1.5 yrs ago - the vet said he was about 2.5 yrs at the time (so he's about 4 yrs now). On the anniversary of my brother's death, my cat stayed outside all night, slept in the garden in 4 degrees / frosty weather conditions. He went out at 2.30am, I got up at 4am, 6am, and then 9am and I began to worry when he didn't return (He usually sleeps under the stairwell in his basket where it is warm if I haven't heard him). I began dressing to go and find him at 9am, when he came running inside and was fully drenched (and looked half his size!) - he wasn't unwell, heart rate fine, just wet and dirty. I washed him down, he cleaned himself dry, ate and then went to sleep on my bed. He had never done this before, and what I found bizarre was that he hates water, and even when it's raining, will make sure he doesn't get wet. My brother loved the seaside, and was there the two days before he passed away. I wonder is my cat a reincarnate of my brother, or is he just letting me know through my cat that he is always near? I have always believed my brother sent my cat to me. Thankyou.

I can't say whether we reincarnate as other animals or not. I can tell you that my brother in law took a dog on as a "go between" after he died, and the dog not only took over "his" duties as the person watching over my sister, but in many ways took on his personality and habits, eventually even dying of the same disease my brother in law had!
What this means, I'm not sure. But the dog was a great help to my sister. Perhaps your brother did choose the cat to do the same for you...
