About Richard Salva
Expertise
I can answer questions related to karma, reincarnation, and life after death, according to the teachings of yoga as taught by Paramhansa Yogananda (master of yoga and author of Autobiography of a Yogi). Yogananda's teachings on these subjects are straightforward, accessible, and helpful to people of any background

Experience
I am an ordained minister and the author of a new book on reincarnation: Soul Journey from Lincoln to Lindbergh: Revealing the Mysteries of Karma and Rebirth. I have studied yoga philosophy and reincarnation for the past thirty years, and I've lectured on these subjects in America and in Europe.

Reincarnation - Animal Reincarnation

Expert: Richard Salva - 11/12/2007

Question
I had a dog for 14 years - Mousy.  I loved her like she was my child.  I have no human children.  She passed away from kidney failure.  The day that I put her in the hospital, a dachshund showed up at my house.  I've had him since then. (7 years) I feel this was God's way of getting me through her loss. I would like to know if dogs can be reincarnated in the human form.  I am so worried about this because I had an abortion and am afraid that it may have been her trying to come back.
Even after 7 years I still grieve for her and pray that she will visit me in my dreams, but I don't ever dream of her.  How can I know that she is okay?
Looking forward to your help.
Thank you!

Answer
Dear Melody,

Thank you for your question.

Animal lovers and pet owners know that animals have souls. In fact, those animals that are closest to human, and that spend much time with humans, are very close to human incarnation.

I have grave doubts, though, that it was your pet that tried to return to you and was aborted. Souls freshly arrived at the human level have no individual karma, because up to that point their egos were not developed enough.

It is possible to receive information as to whether our departed loved ones, human or animal, are well and happy. It takes steadfast prayer and daily meditation. If you really want to know, the answer will come to you, and you will know that it is true.

There is a wonderful book that covers these subjects. It's by the great master of yoga, Paramhansa Yogananda, and is titled Karma and Reincarnation.

I pray that you will find the answers you seek, and that you will know inner peace.

Blessings,

Richard Salva
