Question I am curious, if reincarnation is what happens, that means SOME (at LEAST a few) people reach Nirvana. It seems that the world population would go down, instead of up, over time. Yet the world population continues to rise. Where are these "souls" coming from? I thought it would stay more level or go down a little.

Yes, some apparently reach "Nirvana" or in other words, work through all the karma they had, accomplish all they needed to, and decide (their soul, not their personality) not to incarnate anymore.
The world population does not go down because there is an infinite numbers of souls who are not incarnated or simply in between lives or incarneted in other places. Earth is only one place of many where incarnated or disincarnated souls exist.
