Question My fax machine both receives and sends, but the display has gone blank. The machine has always been plugged into a surge suppressor, but after a series of power outages, the display has gone blank. Before it completely went blank, it was showing weird displays, i.e., numbers and letters running across the screen; then it would sort out its brains and display normally. Is the circuitry fried? Can the machine be repaired?
I have tried a different power cord and plugging the surge suppressor (which is in good working order) into a different outlet. I also tried re-initializing as well as opening and closing the cover several times.
Answer Hi Kate
sounds very much like your display pwb is fried i am afraid.
its either that or the main pwb...if i was you i would continue to use it as it is cos it would probably be expensive to repair.
