Subject: african fat tail gecko
Question um im thinking of getting one but first i need to know are they poisonous i thought they are not but i may be wrong thanks
Answer Dear Sel,
thank you for your question.
No gecko species is poisonous. The only lizard that has a toxin dangerous for humans is the gila monster (and the komodo dragon has bacteria in its salvia that will infect the wounds).
A serious bite from a fat tail gecko will hurt and may draw blood, but nothing else. They are gentle, though, and rarely aggressive.
I hope I was of some help to you
Jennifer
