About Dave Brooks Expertise I can answer questions regarding feeding, habitat, and any other general questions you may have about non-venomous snakes (esp. colubrids..i.e. corn snakes,) and also bearded dragons. However, I do not know very much about breeding. I can also answer questions about any wild snakes in SE US, especially Florida.
Experience I have been keeping snakes for several years.
Question I am concerned for my son's bearded dragon ...I think he is in brumation, he has been very, very in-active, hasn't moved in days and doesn't eat at all...his color is looking ok, he is sleeping all the time.. he hasn't pooped for weeks If he is in brumation, I know he won't eat as much, but shouldn't he eat something or at least take in water? Very worried. HELP

Answer Hey stephanie.
I wouldnt be too worried. It is natural for beardies to go into brumation around this time of year. Don't be concerned about lack of eating...their metabolism is very slow during this time, and they can go for a very long time without eating and hardly lose any weight at all.
All beardies are different, so i cant give you an exact time of brumation for yours. Mine has been inactive since late november, and probably will be for another 4 weeks or so.
I know it looks like he is sick, but this is a normal process that all beardies do to survive the winter.
