I can answer most questions on Leopard Geckos and if I don`t know I will find out and answer it for you. I have one my self and have found some very good facts most new leopard gecko owners don`t know and freak out about. Keep in mind I am not a vet but I can find one to ask.

Question
Hi, I'm am getting a leopard gecko next week, I have read many books, at lest 50 different caresheets online & I also bought a care book, thou I still have some questions which I couldnt really find anwsers too, here they are...

I have a 33 gallon fish tank(its 3 feet long) I was wondering if I could keep him in that? would he be happy with all that space or would it make him feel insacure? Other then a cover and heat source & food, what does he need? Also would a basking bulb be better then an under tank heater?

Can leopard geckos be kept in groups? can a fat tailed gecko & a leopard gecko live together?

thanks

Answer
Hello,
First let me say I'm sorry for getting back to you so late.  I live in Florida and with Hurricane Charley I have been a bit busy.  Second, Thank you for doing your homework before you got your leopard gecko.  A 33 gallon tank is pretty big so you might want to get more then one maybe two or three.  He needs two or maybe three hides.  Since you have a big take I would say three.  Make sure one is at the cool end and one is at the hot end.  The other you can put where ever you want to.  I would recommend a UTH (Under Tank Heater) they are better because it provides a constant source of heat so when ever they get cold they can go in there.  Yes Leopard Geckos can be kept in groups BUT only females can be kept with each other.  Males will fight till one dies.  I wouldn't recommend keeping them with anybody but there own kind.
Hope this helps,
Tyler
