Question
Sorry but we threw it over the hill into the road and now it's gone.  I live in West Virginia. Could it have been a cross between a copperhead and black snake?

Question -
We killed a snake in our yard tonight. It was black with diamond pattern on it. White belly from what I remember. No rattle. Fairly long. What kind would it be?

Hi Brenda,

i really dont think that it is a cross breed , copperhaeds uasually have a pinkish belly,you may have cotton  mouths where you are at,there are quite a few varities in w.v. i wish i could be more helpful, but with out seeing it im at a slight loss aside from guesses,
