Question I use a CPAP at night while I sleep. As a result, my nose gets stuffy at night. I used NOSTRILLA once each nostril at night. Never more than that. I did very well for about 1.5 years. Then I found that my nose was becoming extremely clear and open all of the time. So when I would use it at night, I would get a burning achy feeling in my left nostril at night and into the next day. I also would have an incredibly dry throat at night and into the next day from the spray as well. About a month ago I stopped using the afrin type spray. For about 2 weeks, my left nostril was sore and burning. It went away mostly and would only flare up on occasion with out the spraying. I am off the spray now for about 3 weeks. I went to an ENT who said that he saw no damage in my nose. HERE IS MY QUESTION. DO I HAVE PERMANENT DAMAGE IN MY SINUSES THAT IS CAUSING THE BURNING FEELING THAT THE ENT DID NOT SEE? THE BURNING HAPPENS RARELY NOW BUT FLARES UP OCCASIONALLY. WILL THE BURNING OVER GO AWAY COMPLETELY? WHEN? AND IF IT DOES GO AWAY COMPLETELY WILL I BE ABLE TO USE THE SPRAY AGAIN ON RARE OCCASIONS WITHOUT THE BURNING ISSUE WHICH I CAN'T DO KNOW?
thanks,
Gary
Answer Hi Gary,
Basically, mucus medicine grouped as two groups.
1. To press and make concentrate. So, your nose feels clear. In a long use / term may cause heavy head, because there is too many-concentrated mucus in sinus area.
2. To make it thins and sucks the mucus. So, you feel mucous and wet. In a long use / term may cause dry, because it not just sucks the mucus but also fluid nearest.
