Question QUESTION: My wife was given high dose of methotrexate for months she complained of shortness of breath she told the doctor she wanted off of it she had a underlying lung disease he was given the metho for arthritis could these have caused her to develop the pneamonia that put her in the hospital. also she was threw into maligant hyperthermia by the drug trancrium and vecroium allthis finally in my book caused her death
ANSWER: yes it can cause shortness of breath bcoz methotrexate causes pulmonary fibrosis.and alsoit causes anaemia neutropenia.ok.

QUESTION: After admitted for 4 days I asked them to transfer her to Emory unv. hospital the doctor itrubated her the next day 2 days later he gave her a drug called trancrium her temp. started rising and her heart rate did also she layed their with a heart rate of 167 and a temp. 105.2 for 12 hrs. Iwas told this was malignant hyperthermia buy the nurse later ont tha evening she went into cardiac arrest 12 hrs later all they gave her for this was naprosin and acetominphin shouldnt they have given here datrolene and put her on cooling blanket and packed her with ice when they discovered this. the next day they gave her vecruim and dantrolene her temp. was 1o4.6 and her heart rate 155 not until I asked for ice to put on her did her temp. start coming down i kept a cold rag on her head for 3 hrs changing it out as needed wasnt this something that should have been done. because after all this her kidneys started shutting down along with her liver her blood was coagulating and she was hemoraging wiche the doctor that I brought in said that she ahd passed from sepis could what had happen over the weekend caused all this thanks for your awnser
Answer yes it can be bcoz of malignant hyperthermia as well as sepsis too . but in this it requires to check the doctor when this happen.diagnostic criteria of mh is in muscle biopsy creatinekinase level increase.high temp upto 42 degree celciousbreakdown ofmyoglobin cola color urine.arf too in that case it needs dantrolene sodium . othersis it is bcoz of sepsis
