Question
Respected Sir,
My 4 year 8 month old grandson id often suffering from cold/cough/fevers /running nose/sore throat etc.Doctor(ENT) has suspected enlargement of Adenoid Gland and has advised for X Ray,as HE OFTEN BREATHES THROUGH MOUTH.Probably this problem will go with ageing (say 12 years). As such will you kindly advise me for Nasal Spray/Steroid Sprays to keep this problem minimised. We are not interested for operation.
         With thanks

Answer
Kalyan,

Unfortunately the problem will not go away with age. And no sprays are going to help with the issue. Oral steroids could help in the short term but will not help a lot either. Plus using steroids before any surgery can cause complications. I would recommend the surgery. Sorry I am not giving you the answer that you were hoping for.
