Question hello! I was curious if there is separation in respiration?!?! what i mean by that is, does the left nostril have any correspondence with the left lung?
Answer Alex,
No, the separation ends in the back of the mouth where the nasopharyngeal air mixes with air from the mouth. The single stream of air continues while the air passes down through the vocal chords and trachea. About midway down the chest, the trachea separates out to the right and left bronchi which lead directly to each lung.
